Kate is a seasoned litigator with an expertise in complex commercial disputes, appeals, arbitration, regulatory investigations, and enforcement proceedings. She routinely represents companies and individuals in high-stakes litigation involving contract and employment disputes, partnership and shareholder conflicts, commercial real estate matters, breaches of confidentiality, corporate governance issues, data privacy and protection claims, defamation, and trade secret misappropriation. She has tried dozens of cases in state and federal courts and arbitration.

Kate has particularly extensive experience in financial services law. She regularly advises and represents broker-dealers, registered investment advisers, banks, fintech companies, private equity and venture capital funds, cryptocurrency exchanges and platforms, asset managers, and family offices across a wide range of matters. Her practice includes customer, vendor, and employment disputes, including those involving restrictive covenants such as non-compete, non-solicitation, and confidentiality agreements, as well as Form U5 disclosures and regulatory compliance best practices. She routinely engages with industry regulators on behalf of her clients.

Kate was formerly a shareholder, member of the Executive Committee, and Managing Partner at Murphy & McGonigle, P.C., a nationally ranked Tier One law firm recognized as “Law Firm of the Year” in Securities Regulation by U.S. News – Best Lawyers before it combined with Davis Wright Tremaine.
