Services

​We provide estate and trust planning advice in connection with the following:

• Preparing and updating wills, powers of attorney, and health care proxies.
• Implementing estate planning proposals initiated by the client’s financial advisor.
• Assessing and updating existing family trusts in the context of clients’ own estate planning.
• Preparing revocable/living trusts as a will substitute to avoid the lengthy court process of probating a will.
• Guiding clients who meet the estate tax exemption thresholds regarding gifting assets into multi-generational trusts. 
• Establishing irrevocable trusts for: (i) state income tax savings, including by working with trust companies in favorable jurisdictions; and (ii) protecting family assets from potential external risks, such as business disputes, divorce proceedings, and depletion of family's savings from expenses of in-home care in older age.
  

• Acting as trust counsel in asset transactions involving trusts.
• Petitioning the Surrogate’s Court, including to probate wills, appoint executors/administrators, and administer property of out-of-state decedents.
• Ensuring efficient estate administration, including timely preparation and filing of tax returns by accountants, obtaining asset valuations, as needed, and preparing receipt and release agreements.
